Happy House.

Built about 1935 for 'Happy' Harker whom was Mayor of Wairoa at the time.

Originally he had a hut where the cemetery now is and after it mysteriously blew down he further investigated as to exactly where his boundaries were and re built on existing site within correct boundaries.

This is the large bach with character. ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT

Tommy Tiddler.  KIWIANA Bach Accommodation on the Mahia Peninsula

Tommy Tiddler was originally part of a series of accommodation built about 1935 for the American oil well team up Oil Well gully at Waikokopu.

Moved to Mahia Beach about 1938 by EB Shortt, relocated again to its present site in 2006; Tommy Tiddler was one of the original bach's at Mahia and still keeps its Kiwiana feel in today's world.

Katipo Lodge

This beach house was built only 10 years ago and has all the modern and luxurious facilities that you would need while you are at Mahia!  It has the most stunning views of the whole of the Mahia Beach settlement, Mokotahi and the beach itself.  We are the only house located on the closest most elevated sight making us stand out from all the rest.

With a BBQ and outdoor entertaining area, with all modern and comfortable out door furniture - this house is not seasonal. It is lovely and warm in the winter and opens out into the summer.

Two minute walk to all the local amenities, beach, boat ramp, dive shop and the local Mahia Beach Store and Sunset Point Tavern are just down the drive.
