Happy House.

Built about 1935 for 'Happy' Harker whom was Mayor of Wairoa at the time.

Originally he had a hut where the cemetery now is and after it mysteriously blew down he further investigated as to exactly where his boundaries were and re built on existing site within correct boudaries.

This is the large bach with character. ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT!

Overlooking the main boat ramp to the iconic Mokotahi Hill, it is only a short walk to Taylor’s bay which is one of the many beaches you will enjoy at Mahia.

Located in the hub of Mahia, the 'Happy House' is well within walking distance of everything you'll need and do.

How to get to the Happy House:

Drive along Newcastle street, past the Sunset Point tavern on your left and the Lotto shop on your right. Turn first left into Dommett street & situated on the corner of Dommett & Newcastle street is a big blue house on your right through the old iron gates – Welcome to the Happy House.
