"We had a great weekend, it was so nice to get away and just relax. The bach was fantastic and in such a great location. We will definitely be back to Mahia over the summer," Kelly Nov 2008
"We certainly did enjoy ourselves and you turned on wonderful weather for us.We loved the house; lovely comfy furniture and that magnificent fire ! Thanx for the delicious goodies – very generous of you. We found the café (of course) and had a couple of yummy meals there and bought some of those pickles and chutneys. You gave us everything we were looking for – peace and quiet, walks, seashore and civilization within striking distance. Thanx also to John and Fiona who looked after us so well. Many thanx and kindest regards, Heather"
"Thanks cathy, the bach or should i say massive house was great. Had a great time and hope to rent one of your homes again" Hamish Douglas
"We had a wonderful holiday with our group. First visiting Lake Waikaremoana and then onto Mahia. Our visit to Mahia was fabulous and everyone arrived home after having very personal, unique experiences at Mahia Peninsula. Many of our clients have travelled to many places in New Zealand and the World and to stay at Mahia and see so many different attractions to what they have seen at other places and hear the amazing Mahia History was a real treat. A privilege to hear Cathy Coop tell us so much of the local history, and so wonderful for everyone to see the original Portland Island lighthouse keepers house and see all the treasures that have been recovered from one of the Shipwrecks. Also a privilege to visit the Coop's Farm and listen to Will Coop tell us of some of the farming background and historyof Mahia----Also history of the many families, who have lived there. The Coop's work of setting up a Mahia Maritime Trust is such a great idea and we wish them all the success they deserve.
The people on our tour, felt it was a relaxing holiday Mecca with plenty to do and see for individuals andfamilies of all ages and ability. Everyone felt it was brilliant to hear all the local history, but also just to see Mahia for themselves, as it is today.
Overseas visitors & New Zealanders need to know more about these places and see the Real New Zealand---So picturesque and unique but so unspoilt"
